This train is timed to connect with the GNER for London at Wakefield. As you probably know Wakefield Westgate has 2 platforms and the GNERs pass here. The train will leave the station up towards Leeds where it will wait in the siding to the north until the GNERs have passed aswell as the southbound voyager. It will then return to the platform before starting its circular tour back to Selby. Of course if it is running late as it can often be, it is straight in and back out. This use to happen twice an hour when through services from Pontefract Monkhill also went to Westgate, now only late evening services go all the way.
