I have to admit, I have had funny looks at drivers for taking photos of trains, I also had a guard looking at me with a "naughty, naughty" look towards me. I have also been kicked out of Glasgow Central station twice as well and wasn't allowed on a train for taking a photo. Yep sometimes things can be taken too far.

I also sometimes get it as does every spotter I guess, particularly Passenger train drivers, I guess freight train drivers are maybe more use to it. Agree with the age thing definately, even fellow trainspotters seem to look at me oddly?! One driver...
