When the Grand Central Railway will start, it will operate from Kings Cross to Sunderland. The Kings Cross to Bradford route was rejected.

Operators in the North East
Virgin & GNER do not operate to any locations in the North East other than those on the ECML. Also Northern do not opearte to York from Northallerton, TPE do.
