I have enlarged the photo and sharpened it also and the sign DEFINATLEY says Carlisle and having been there fairly recently it is Carlisle without a doubt and the is taken from platform 3 with the train in platform 4. Offhand I can't remember the...
I have enlarged the photo and sharpened it also and the sign DEFINATLEY says Carlisle and having been there fairly recently it is Carlisle without a doubt and the is taken from platform 3 with the train in platform 4. Offhand I can't remember the platform numbers in the background but I think they are 5 and 6 which head south for services to Leeds and Newcastle.

Why do you doubt this is Carlisle?? Living in Lancaster I can say its definitely not what the trolley says, but Anthony must surely be aware of where he was spotting at the time. I'm sure he wouldn't lie on purpose just to be malicious :S. I believe...

I'm sure he wouldn't lie on purpose just to be malicious :S. I believe this to be the view from Platform 3 where the Workington train goes from. Luke

I just enlarged a section and sharpened it up with Paint Shop Pro and it looks to me like it says "Durham"!
